THE ESTATE

The West Barsham Estate is tucked between the golden hills and salt-washed coastline of North Norfolk, offering a rural idyll enriched by nature and untouched by time. Here, conservation and preservation go hand-in-hand with comfort, offering six luxury self-catering barns and an elegant manor house alongside our own brewery, while 280 acres of completely untouched marshland harbour a plethora of wildlife.

About us

Owned and farmed by the same family for three generations, West Barsham is wrapped in over 2,500 acres of tranquil woodland, regenerated marshland and carefully-preserved meadows, where wildlife thrives, wading birds flock and rare-breed sheep graze.

The Brewery

The Barsham Brewery creates award-winning craft beers in one of the estate’s ancient farm buildings, surrounded by the golden, rolling barley fields that grow some of the best Maris Otter barley in the world. Malted just down the road at Crisp Maltings and blended with pure water from our own borehole, each one of our beers is named after a favourite place or person on the estate, and we are so are proud to be the purveyors of a “Norfolk Born and Brewed” product in the truest sense.

Conservation

Conservation and preservation lie at the heart of our estate and approach. Our golden fields of wheat and barley are farmed using innovative techniques focussing on soil restoration and sustainable farming methods for the future. Standing alongside are vital wetland meadows and 280 acres of regenerated marshland, home to a plethora of wildlife, as well as swathes of restored woodland, conservation sites and wild hedgerows. Our very own apiary provides a home to the honeybees that pollinate the huge array of wildflowers across the estate.
